Asbestos Removal Track Record
With a strong focus on asbestos removal within South Australia, we have established a proven track record including work on landmark buildings such as: AMP Building, NAB Building, Royal Adelaide Hospital, Advertiser Building, and the old ETSA and John Martins Buildings.
One of our largest clients over recent years has been Spotless, facility manager for all Defence bases and government schools in South Australia. Our commitment to quality has led to an enduring relationship with Spotless and significant experience in varied aspects of asbestos removal. Together, McMahon Services and Spotless Defence have devised a program to make all Defence Bases in South Australia contaminant free by the year 2010.
Our experience with asbestos also extends to marine infrastructure. McMahon Services has been called upon to decommission a number of submarines and ships for the NAVY including HMAS Orion and HMAS Hobart. After removing all asbestos and hazardous waste, McMahon Services would either demolish and scrap the vessel or in the case of HMAS Hobart, sink it to the ocean floor.

Safety
McMahon Services is aware of the dangers of working with asbestos and therefore has very stringent management systems in place to ensure the health and safety of all personnel involved with our projects. All staff undertake thorough asbestos training upon induction and continually receive updates as required. Procedures put in place to ensure we meet health and safety requirements include: Dust Level Monitoring, Medical Examination / Health Surveillance, Enclosure of the Work Area, Extraction Ventilation of Work Area, Decontamination Unit, Protective Clothing and Respirator Protection. McMahon Services has assisted various governing bodies with training in the handling of asbestos and continue to remain at the forefront of health and safety procedures.
